Dispatch é uma carta, testamento e evocação dos prazeres viscerais (e crueldades) da performance ao vivo, entregue através de uma chamada telefónica, pela autora, Daria Kaufman, a quem estiver em linha.
Dispatch is a letter to the visceral pleasures (and cruelties) of live performance, delivered via phone call by the author, Daria Kaufman, to whomever else is on the line.
Participants sign up to receive a one-on-one call from Kaufman at a specified day and time, during which she recites an evocative testament to live spectacle, told from shifting perspectives and geographies. Dispatch aims to transmit some finely tuned, tactile intimacy at a time when it’s hard to come by.
Daria Kaufman is an interdisciplinary performing artist creating work at the edges of dance, theater, technology, and installation. Formally trained as a dancer and choreographer, she dissolves the boundaries between genres in order to tease out new forms. Her solo and collaborative projects have been presented throughout Portugal, Germany, and the San Francisco Bay Area. Of late, she is interested in how rhetoric collides with performance and creative practice – in the choreography of language and the hidden mechanics of communication.
